Shanghai, China, June 28, 2023 - Rapid.Space will be exhibiting at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai from 28 to 30 June 2023 (Hall N3, Stand B92, C91). At MWC Shanghai, Rapid.Space will demonstrate the new version of the Open Radio Station (ORS) for N79 private 5G networks in Asia.

Weighing only 2.4 kg with a total power consumption of 32W, the ORS allows the creation of 4G/5G private networks or to extend a public networks. Its power of 2 x 1W is sufficient for line of sight ranges between 1 km and 10 km depending on antenna, frequency and conditions. It can be optimised for upload or for download depending on customer needs.

It is an ideal product for police or civil security forces when public operator networks are not available: white zones, public events, ships, etc. It is also used to create private 4G/5G networks in factories or to extend operators' networks in buildings. Combined with Starlink, it can be used to re-establish a backup 4G/5G network in case of natural disasters or conflicts.

With the release of the N79 version of ORS, "plug-and-play" local 5G networks becomes available to customers in Japan, Korea and other countries in Asia which have adopted the N79 band for private 5G.
