PRESS RELEASE

Barcelona, Spain, March 3, 2024 - Rapid.Space will start sales of ORS 5Pack at MWC 2025 with an introductory price of 5,555€ for a limited time. ORS 5Pack includes one ORS autonomous base station and five Oukitel WP30 5G smartphones ready to used on the 5G DECT unlicensed spectrum of band N39.

Thanks to EU's 2009 telecom directive on technology neutrality, private 5G is available to everyone in EU without license, just like SXGP in Japan. Until recently, the only missing item was a 5G SA smartphone compatible with the 5G DECT band (1880 MHz to 19000 MHz). Rapid.Space, in cooperation with Oukitel, has created a smartphone capable of operating on the 5G DECT/N39 band.

In order to make private 5G as simple as possible, Rapid.Space has created a pack consisting of one ORS and five Oukitel WP30 5G rugged smartphones. All components are pre-configured so that users do not need to set any parameter or configure anything and enjoy private 5G. Each phone is provided with a messaging, push-to-talk and video streaming application that can operate with or without Internet access. Radio power has been limited to 100 mW and bandwidth to 10 MHz in order protect the use of existing DECT infrastructure while using ORS on 5G DECT band.

Jean-Paul Smets concludes: "with ORS 5Pack, deploying a private 5G network has become as easy as deploying a Wifi network while bringing all the benefits of 5G for stability, range and scalability."

ORS 5Pack public price after MWC 2025 is 6,850€ (excl. tax).
