$PRESS RELEASE

Shanghai, China, June 28, 2023 - Rapid.Space will be exhibiting at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai from 28 to 30 June 2023 (Hall N3, Stand B92, C91). At MWC Shanghai, Rapid.Space will introduce a fully "Made in China" plug-and-play 4G/5G vRAN solution composed of: Hygon CPU baseband servers (BBU), Lopcomm radio heads (RU), core network, open source network management system (OSS/BSS), and licensed source eNodeB/gNodeB. This vRAN solution is targeted at Chinese tier-1 telecom operators looking to remove their dependency on non-Chinese technologies.

Jean-Paul Smets, CEO of Rapid.Space, explains: "Rapid.Space is one of the few vRAN equipment manufacturers able to provide a tested and guaranteed end-to-end 4G/5G infrastructure. Our products are designed to meet the needs for digital resilience, and sovereignty in virtualized 4G/5G networks. All Rapid.Space products include an open-source a network management system (OSS/BSS) developed by an international team (including Chinese developers), aiming to automate the deployment and management of tens of thousands of base stations and multi-vendor radio units at minimal cost".

Jun Li, CEO of Lopcomm adds: "Chinese market has been growing rapidly since the opening of 5G frequencies, while Chinese equipment manufacturers are lagging behind in the field of virtualized 5G. Lopcomm intends to contribute to the native RU product segments, together with Rapid.Space's Hygon CPU BBU, we believe we can gain a big step forward on providing local vRAN solutions to local telecoms.
